Some history

Mulled apple juice: Mulled apple juice originated in medieval Europe, where it was a popular drink during winter celebrations. This tradition has journeyed through the centuries, and today mulled apple juice is still a widespread feature of winter festivities – conjuring warmth, conviviality and the magic of ancient customs.

Ingredients

  • 1L Terre de l'Alpe unfiltered apple juice
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 piece of fresh ginger
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 2 star anise pods

Preparation

Pour the apple juice into a saucepan and add the spices.
Add the (peeled and diced) ginger and the (sliced) lemon.
Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes.
Strain the juice and serve immediately.
